2008) Sherri McCarter, Regional
Economic Development Specialist with the
State of Tennessee, Department of Economic
and Community Development, will serve as
keynote speaker for the graduation of the
Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce’s
2007-08 Leadership Henry County class,
scheduled for 6 pm on Thursday, May 22nd at
the Lafayette Room of the Econo Lodge.
McCarter is Henry County’s liaison with the
Three Star program and a frequent leadership
class session speaker.
Leadership Henry County is a community
awareness and skill building program
sponsored by the Chamber. It offers eight
one-day classes to people who have
demonstrated leadership potential. Each
session is taught by a community leader. The
sessions include team building, government,
education, healthcare, arts and history,
tourism, agriculture and economic
development. Carlton Gerrell, executive
pastor of Tennessee Valley Community Church,
serves as program chair.
The class includes Michele Atkins, UT

Church; Mike Wilson, Regions Bank; Kathy
Jones, Commercial Bank; Tony Lawrence, City

Company; Scott Morrison, Regions Bank; Craig
Peevyhouse, Henry County Medical Center;
Chris Scott, E & W Electric; and Susie
Umstead, Paris-Henry County Chamber of
Commerce.
